Company Continues to Gain Momentum on Several Business Initiatives
SAN FRANCISCO -- Sputnik[R] (OTCBB:SPUT), a leading provider of software for venue-branded, access-controlled Wi-Fi, and NexAira, a strategic solutions provider of wireless data devices and solutions, today announced that the future NexAira wireless broadband routers will support Sputnik software.
NexAira will premier its first cellular broadband router integrated with Sputnik software at CTIA 2007 October 23-25 in San Francisco. The NexConnect router uses a cellular data service--not a hard-wired data line--to link a Wi-Fi network to the Internet. Wi-Fi networks can be set up anywhere an electrical connection and cellular services are available. SputnikNet, offered as a subscription service, gives the Wi-Fi provider the ability to centrally manage end-user access, branding, and security, as well as remotely monitor the NexConnect router.
"Sputnik Wi-Fi management features on NexAira routers makes it easy for cafes, coffee shops and business establishments around the world to offer wireless hotspots with their own branding," said Chris Bursey, NexAira Vice President of Sales. "Wi-Fi networks can be a customer amenity or provide corporate Internet access where there's no data line. The NexConnect router is a mobile hotspot when installed on moving vehicles or public transportation. Our product works around the world using most major cellular data services."
"Sputnik's relationship with NexAira supports our strategy to build multiple tiers of channel partners who can serve as one-stop providers of complete managed Wi-Fi business solutions," said Dave LaDuke, Sputnik founder and CEO. "NexAira's router offers unique deployment options to the wide variety of international customers we have in retail and transportation businesses."
